the girl from boca chica

Boy, do I love this version of Pocahontas.  Doing something similar for the tribute show.  Susanna is my David Rawlings.

We’re learning some songs at practice tonight for the big Neil Young cover show at Howler’s next month (May 8th!).  I wonder if everyone else picked 10 minute songs.

I like this one.  It’s from the sold out show with Vetiver a couple of months back.  After the show, I introduced Vetiver to the classic Primanti’s sandwich.  I’m sure it will inspire their songwriting positively.  I’ve done my part for indie rock.

Here it is, kids.

Afternoon Tea.

And, why no, I did not know that the Kinks also have a song called Afternoon Tea when I wrote this.  Oops.

The Lohio/chica line up:

Hallie Pritts on guitar/sangin’

Greg Dutton on rhodes/guitar/sangin’

Susanna Meyer on sangin’

Liz Adams on bass, electric and bowed/sangin’

James Hart on pedal steel freakout

Jeff Baron on guitar

Sven Stens on drum kit

A while back, Boca Chica spent some meaningful time with Lohio, recording a collaboration called “Afternoon Tea” for a Norwegian micro-label called Eardrums Pop.  It’s out!  And the whole compilation is available for free download.  It also includes another Pittsburgh collaboration between Meeting of Important People and Triggers.  Check it aht.
